On Nov. 19, head coach Kara Krawiecki hosted Maryville's first STUNT clinic. Prospective student athletes interested in Maryville's new STUNT program came to learn about the sport and try some skills. Participants included current Maryville students as well as many high school students from Missouri, Illinois and even Georgia.
Krawiecki started the clinic off with a presentation of what STUNT is and explained how games are played and scored. She also explained how the Maryville STUNT program will look for the 2018-2019 season and what she is looking for in athletes.
Afterwards, everyone moved into the gym. Here, Krawiecki taught participants a 2018 game routine which many participants managed to learn quickly. They also were taught collegiate level stunts that are in the 2018 STUNT routines such as front pike cradles, inversions, hand to hands and 2½ level high pyramids. The participants worked well together learning many new skills and collegiate level stunts they had never done before.
